ANNUAL REPORT

It's with profound gratitude and joy, I bring forth the curricular and co-curricular activities of Swami Nithyananda English Medium School, Kuhal Nagar. The school is owned and managed by Swami Nithyananda Ashram Public Trust to honour Sadguru Nithyananda. The school came into being in 1993 and was affiliated to CBSE New Delhi in 2003. It's established with a view to render quality education to young boys and girls in all sections of the society. The school empowers the students to choose their goal and not to give up until they achieve it.

Vision
We visualize the overall development of every individual through a sound intellectual, emotional and physical education based on the values of love, truth, wisdom, justice and peace to serve humanity.

Mission
Developing the inherent skills in students we prepare them to understand, succeed and contribute to the modern society and help them become competent and successful leaders of tomorrow with practical and theoretical knowledge that enables them to improve conditions for local and global communities.

The staff
Swami Nithyananda English Medium School is gifted with talented and well equipped faculty with enthusiasm and vigour in helping the students actualize their potentials. Every staff member constantly strives to impart true values of justice, honesty, fairness, equality and regard for the welfare of others. We have at present 21 well qualified and efficient teaching and 7 non-teaching staff who endeavour as a team to work for the progress of the school. The success of our school is the fruit of the tireless efforts of our staff members ever since this mighty institution came into existence. The spectacular performance of our students in all aspects of education is deep rooted in the commitment and dedication of our teachers. I thank the teachers who work to make this temple of learning into an extraordinary one, and the teachers who left us for good.

CBSE Central Syllabus
Our school follows CBSE syllabus that enhances better career opportunities. Our students have secured an outstanding result in all the CBSE board exams over the years. As far as CBSE syllabus is concerned the students are exposed to broad spectrum of subjects. It helps them undergo intensive preparation and studies. Projects and assignments are made compulsory for the development of a research mind. It enables them to be critical and creative in both curricular and co-curricular activities.

Our labs and Library
Computer Lab: We have a well-equipped computer lab with latest systems that help our students in preparing projects. Children become familiar with the modern technology and are able to participate in globalization. Science Lab: Experiential learning is concrete and long lasting. We have provided the pupils with well-equipped chemistry, physics and biology labs that enhances scientific discovery of our young minds. The library: Our library with more than 3000 books helps the students in developing reading habits and intellectual formation. Children from lower primary make use of the library. Special periods are allotted in the time table for the reading and book reference. The library has a variety of books namely stories, novels, reference books, periodicals, encyclopaedia, dictionaries and so on.

Co-curricular Activities
In the academic year 2020-21, we had online classes, exams and co-curricular activities. The classes were organized on Zoom and Whatsapp platforms. As usual the school reopened on 1st of June and the welcoming the new comer ceremony was conducted online. The class sessions were filled with curiosity and tensions since the students, parents and teachers were into a new teaching and learning platform. The initial hurdles were overcome in no time when everyone got used to the use of the technology.

English Fest
The school organized an English Fest for the entire student community and it lasted for about two months. This was to develop a love for the English language and to help children improve their English speaking skills. A lot of English events were held and the participation of students was tremendous. The class teachers took initiative in helping students participate in all the events. In-service training for teachers
Teachers attended very many trainings organized by CBSE board, private companies and the school. The school always upholds the view that the standard of our teachers is the standard of our children. The teachers were asked to handle classes for updating their traditional way of teaching. A good many of them had been made competent in effective teaching.

Celebrations
World Environment day, Hiroshima and Nagasaki day, Independence day, Teachers day, Keralapiravi, Children's day, Onam and so on were celebrated online with great pomp and show. Children performed variety programmes on all these days and made the celebration colourful.

Sports and Games
Our school gives much importance to sports and games which help the students improve their physique and social skills. We have a sports room having all types of sports and games items. During online sessions the students had physical exercises at home under the guidance of both the parents and PET instructor.

Parents Teacher Association
The PTA of our school is very active getting involved in all aspects of school curriculum. Though PTA general body couldn't be called due to Covid lock down a PTA executive committee was formed consisting of 20 members headed by a PTA president. The goodwill of the PTA is always a great support to the school and the management. Parents have been given time and freedom to meet the subject teachers to know the performance of their ward.
